Information from the Environment Agency

At the September 2019 meeting, the Parish Council received information on the "communities prepared" project which supports those at risk of flooding. The project is led by a charity - Groundwork - and has national lottery funding. Further information can be found in the flyer or the document outlining the project in more detail which is supported by information on the related training modules.

Highways notices

Notices received from Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) or Ringway, on behalf of HCC Highways, will be added here as and when received.

Note - in respect of the road closures proposed in the orders received in February 2018, Highways have stated that "closing both roads together could cause access issues for the village and we would plan to close them separately".

In addition, it was suggested that this website should be used for up to date information on roadworks.

1st November 2018: Intended temporary closing of The Causeway, Furneux Pelham from 11 December 2018 for up to 18 months. However, restrictions will only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the road - see proposed order and maps - page 2

30th September 2018: Intended temporary closing of footpath 4 in Furneux Pelham, from its junction with The Street northwards and north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1841 metres, from 29 October 2018 for up to 6 months. However, restrictions will only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the footpath - see proposed order and map

27th February 2018: Intended temporary closing and temporary waiting restrictions in Furneux Pelham on the Stocking Pelham to Albury road between the East End crossroads (‘Bonhams’), past Clay Chimneys to Cut-Throat corner from 1 April 2018 for up to 18 months. However, restrictions will only take effect at the times indicated by the signs on or near the roads - see proposed order and maps - page 1

19th February 2018: Intended temporary closing and temporary waiting restrictions in Furneux Pelham on the road from the sewage works to its junction with the Stocking Pelham - Albury toad at Cut Throat corner from 1 April 2018 for up to 18 months. However, restrictions will only take effect at the times indicated by the signs on or near the roads - see proposed order and maps - page 2

6th July 2017: Intended temporary closing and temporary waiting restrictions in various roads in Furneux Pelham, Albury, Bishop's Stortford, Much Hadham and Sawbridgeworth from 1 August 2017 for up to 18 months. However, restrictions will only take effect at the times indicated by the signs on or near the roads - see proposed order and maps
